Description

This new program is part of a broader effort to provide a tactical operational picture aligned with the JADC2 and Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) to adapt to new and emerging threats.
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to serve as a C2 (Command and Control) Software Developer within our cutting-edge defense and mission systems division. This role will work directly under the C2 Integration Development Lead , supporting the integration, development, and enhancement of Command and Control capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong software engineering background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and experience working on complex systems within agile development environments.
Key Responsibilities:
-Design, develop, test, and maintain C2 software components in alignment with project and mission requirements.
-Support integration of new and existing capabilities into operational C2 systems.
-Collaborate with the C2 Integration Development Lead and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless interoperability across platforms.
-Write and maintain clear, concise documentation for software modules and interfaces.
-Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
-Troubleshoot software issues and support debugging efforts in development and test environments.
-Ensure all software meets performance, reliability, and security standards.
-Stay current with evolving technologies and recommend improvements to existing.
Qualifications
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.
U.S. Citizenship and an active DOD secret clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
Required:
-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
-3+ years of experience in software development, ideally within defense, aerospace, or C2 systems.
-Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
-Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, version control, and agile methodologies.
-Experience with system integration, message handling, and data exchange protocols.
-Security clearance or eligibility to obtain one (e.g., Secret or Top Secret).
Preferred:
-Familiarity with C2 systems such as AF C2, GCCS, or other tactical/military platforms.
-Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), microservices, or cloud-based architectures.
-Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
-Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
-Experience working in cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
Target salary range: $120,001 – $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
