The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Senior VMware Server Administrator to serve as the primary point of contact in managing, maintaining and optimizing VMware server environments to support the operational needs of USSTRATCOM. This role involves ensuring the availability, performance and security of virtualized infrastructure critical to national defense operations. The work location for this position is Omaha, Nebraska. The position is contingent upon award of the United States Strategic Command SCITLS contract.
Responsibilities:
Server Administrator (VMware), Senior:
Oversees the deployment, management, and optimization of virtualized server environments using VMware technologies
Installs, configures, and maintains VMware environments, including vSphere, ESXi hosts, and vCenter Server
Performs virtual machine provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management and ensures the availability, scalability, and security of the virtual infrastructure.
Optimizes resource allocation within the virtual environment to ensure performance and efficiency
Monitors the health and performance of virtual servers using tools such as vRealize Operations Manager
Applies patches, updates, and firmware upgrades to VMware hosts and virtual machines
Performs regular backups and snapshots of virtual machines for disaster recovery purposes
Ensures compliance with change management processes during maintenance activities
Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high-impact assignments
Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
May supervise others
Qualifications:
Required:
Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in VMware administration and virtualization technologies
Required 8140 Cert within 6 months of start date: 451 – Intermediate; Cloud+ or GICSP or SSCP or Security+ or GSEC; OR Applicable degree ABET accredited/CAE designated; OR Training
AND
Additional Cert: VMWare Certified Professional (VCP)
Proficient in VMware vSphere, vCenter, and related technologies
Strong understanding of networking, storage, and security in virtual environments
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$78,000 – $163,800
