We are in search of a Senior Substation Physical Engineer to join our diverse and fast-paced Power Delivery Solutions organization. In this role, the qualified individual will be expected to:
- Perform conceptual and detailed HV and MV Substation Physical/Electrical design for utilities/substations (including basic layout, electrical arrangement, one line, three line drawings, plan-section, grounding, AC and DC system drawings)
- Perform engineering studies and calculations
- Perform Quality Control reviews on smaller substation physical design projects
- Assume the role of technical lead on smaller projects with limited guidance or on medium sized projects with guidance.
- Create and review bill of materials for substation physical projects
- Develop and review proposals, and scopes of work for smaller substation physical projects
- Be involved in limited client interaction (including site visits) with a senior, project or lead project engineer
- Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with the internal teams and clients to meet project objectives
- Develop leadership skills in preparation for future roles on the team
What you will bring to the table:
- Senior Level: Four (4)+ years of Substation physical design experience.
- Lead Level: Eight (8) + years of Substation physical design experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, civil or related degree
- Experience with grounding studies/lightning protection and lighting studies.
It would be nice if you had:
- Registered Professional Engineer ( P.E) license
- Master’s degree in related field
- Working knowledge of protection and control design
- Experience with bus calculation
- Experience with WinIGS or CDEGS

Pay Range:
Pay Range $85,150.00 – $153,925.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
