Description

The Multi Domain Solutions Division at Leidos is looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support a fast-paced program with the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in network engineering, a strong understanding of DoD IT requirements, and proven leadership skills. The Senior Project Engineer will oversee the deployment of managed services. workstations, and networks, ensuring compliance with DoD policies and security standards. In addition, they will collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. The Senior Project Engineer will be an integral member of the Program Management Office (PMO) team, collaborating on strategic initiatives and ensuring alignment with overall program goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support a team of engineers in the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure for DoD environments.
  • Work closely with the PMO team to align network engineering efforts and workstation deployments with overall program objectives and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain network architecture documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standards for environments and ensure they are compatible with workstations.
  • Communicate and verify hardware procurements are aligned with overall system architecture and workstations.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure adherence to DoD security requirements, including Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Manage network incidents and problems, coordinating resolution efforts to minimize service disruptions.
  • Conduct regular assessments of network performance and capacity, providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and updates to management and key stakeholders, including the PMO.
  • Build a culture grounded in the Leidos values, beliefs and expectations and highest standards of ethical and respectful behavior.

Basic Qualifications:

  • US Citizen with at least a Top Secret
  • Bachelor’s degree with 12-15 years of experience or Master’s degree with 10-13 years of experience. Additional experience could be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, routing, and switching technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs).
  • Experience with network security principles and technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Experience with workstation deployments in Special Access Program environments.
  • Familiarity with DoD regulations and standards, including RMF and NIST frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in security management (e.g., CISSP, CISM, COMPTIA Security+).
  • Advanced networking certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CompTIA Network+).
  • Experience with cloud networking and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (e.g.,  ServiceNow)
  • Previous experience working with federal government or military customers.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $126,100.00 – $227,950.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
