Position Description
This position will involve engineering and technical support required across several departments of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport Washington:
* System Acceptance & Operational Readiness Department (Code 20) *: The System Acceptance & Operational Readiness Department plans, organizes, directs, and controls NUWC Division, Keyport’s Test, Training and Evaluation (TT&E) of undersea warfare (USW) systems and operational readiness assessment support for acquisition and Fleet customers. Code 20 conducts system evaluation activities throughout all phases of the acquisition life cycle including technology development, system design, development, and production, and in-service readiness assessment.
Undersea and Combat Systems Depot (UCSD) (Code 31) : The Undersea and Combat Systems Depot (UCSD) provides repair services for mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronics systems, assemblies, and components. The UCSD provides a continuum of expert level skills including evaluating electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components for feasibility of repair, repair of items to customer specifications, reverse engineering, maintenance planning and engineering, obsolescence management, and application of new maintenance technologies. The Depot exists to ensure continuity of support often as the last resort source of repair for items abandoned by industry for business or technological reasons, past the
