Our work depends on a Network Engineer Senior Advisor joining our team to evolve and maintain network infrastructure for the Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration.
HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Provides technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations. Designs, builds, and implements network systems.
Directs compilation of records and reports concerning network operations and maintenance. Troubleshoots network performance issues. Analyzes network traffic and provides capacity planning solutions.
Troubleshoots network systems when necessary and makes improvements to the network.
Monitors and responds to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems.
Provides quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products.
Monitors and responds to hardware, software, and network problems.
Provides the routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities.
Performs system-level design and configuration of products including determination of hardware, OS, and other platform specifications.
Performs a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment.
May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
May serve as a team or task lead
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Master’s Degree (Substitutions will be based on additional years of experience)
Required Experience: 15+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills: Demonstrated ability with Network Engineering, Network Design, Network Architecture, Network Infrastructure, Network Systems
Security Clearance Level:
U.S. Citizenship Required
Possess Q or TS level clearance (or their equivalency) with the ability to obtain a Q level clearance
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain such clearance as a condition of employment
Required Skills and Abilities: Proficient Written and Oral Communication; Organization, Teamwork, Problem Solving/Troubleshooting

The likely salary range for this position is $138,859 – $187,867. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
