Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

10 years of experience in trust and safety, product policy, privacy and security, legal, compliance, risk management, intel, content moderation, red teaming, AI testing, adversarial testing, or similar.

1 year of experience in people management, leading a team.

Experience with machine learning or AI.

Preferred qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., computer science, information security, artificial intelligence).

3 years of experience in people management.

Experience working with GenAI products.

Ability to think strategically and identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities.

Excellent investigative skills with a focus on data analysis, using data in storytelling, and problem-solving with knowledge of SQL, Python or equivalent.

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you’re a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed – with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

In this role, you will be an expert in developing structured ways to test Google’s GenAI products with new and previously-untested functionality against safety, neutrality and fairness standards. You will draw on expertise across testing operations, policy, and AI systems and will partner closely with the technical abuse-fighting experts in Trust and Safety to understand launch requirements, develop and implement testing protocols. You will leverage data analysis to provide quantitative and qualitative actionable insights on potential risks for mitigation by Trust and Safety and product teams define and implement risk mitigation strategies. You will need to manage many stakeholders through relationship building, influence and communication skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$234,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Lead structured pre-launch safety, neutrality and fairness testing, end to end, for Google’s GenAI products with new and previously-untested functionality.

Develop and implement other RAI Testing programs to improve testing approaches.

Influence within the team and beyond, providing thought leadership and expertise in AI safety.

Work with sensitive content or situations and may be exposed to graphic, controversial, or upsetting topics or content.
