The Infrastructure team
within the IT department,
referred to as System Administrators, are responsible for North Stars Information Technology infrastructure. This includes equipment such as desktop pcs, laptops, servers, data storage equipment, network switches, firewalls, and printers and many software products that the Company uses. This group is also responsible for our internet and wireless connections; internal and external network security; data backup and recovery; and communication systems.
North Star Mutual Insurance Company is looking for applicants for our summer 2025 IT System Administrator internship program. Students will be exposed to hardware and software administration tools, server and desktop PC virtualization, network design, cyber security, along with seeing how IT supports other aspects of our insurance business. They will also have the opportunity to learn how to be a team player, gain responsibility, and enhance their communication skills. Other duties/projects may be assigned.
Individuals that have strong communication and analytical skills and the ability to work with various types of software and hardware are encouraged to apply.
Interns may be exposed to confidential Company information and must be able to maintain that throughout and following their experience at North Star.
The pursuit of an Associates or Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred for this internship.
Compensation: $20.00 per hour.
