Academy, Ltd. D/B/A Academy Sports + Outdoors has an opening for IT Business Intelligence Data Engineer in Katy, Texas. Duties include:
1.
Data Engineering responsibilities for designing and building data pipelines using technology stacks such as Kafka, Kafka Producers and Consumers, SQL and Java.
2.
Contribute to establishing and growing Data Engineering designs, best practices and standards for the enterprise.
3.
Partner with Business Analysts and Application developers across various functional areas within enterprise such as Store Systems, Merchandising, Digital etc. to design and deliver scalable data engineering solution.
4.
Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications.
5.
Provide expertise and recommend solutions to complex data engineering requirements and technical issues.
6.
Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and options for data engineering and data management.
7.
Ability to manage tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
8.
Act as a Data Engineering Technology Subject Matter Expert by proactively acquiring knowledge as it relates to technology changes and advancements, conduct POCs, develop prototypes and reusable frameworks.
9.
Develop a thorough understanding of Academy policies, procedures and safety rules.
10.
Responsibilities may change; team members may be required to perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Employer will accept a minimum of a bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or other related engineering discipline, and 48 months of experience in the job offered or related occupation. Experience must include the following:
1.
48 months of experience around Data Engineering, Application Integrations or Integrating with Cloud Data Platforms.
2.
48 months of Experience developing Data Engineering solutions using various design patterns such as Qlik Replicate, Batch and Streaming ETL, Integrating with Message Queues and Topics, Developing Producers and Consumers and Integrating with APIs.
3.
48 months of experience around SQL, Java, Python programming or shell scripting.
