Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Counterintelligence Command, Region 2, SW-San Antonio. Responsibilities Providing professional advice on techniques and innovative methods employed in threat analysis and projection. Providing products used to defend positions effectively within the intelligence, planning, and operational communities. Initiating actions that involve the interpretation of counterintelligence (CI) policy and provides authoritative advice on CI issues. Recommending solutions to unique and complex issues regarding counterintelligence (CI) and international terrorism (IT) activities to Region and command staff personnel. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized experience is defined as experience 1) interpreting critical counterintelligence legal principles; 2) providing expert level technical control and coordinating within an agency on all counterintelligence (CI) and international terrorism (IT) investigative activities of a Field Office (FO) or Resident Agency (RA); AND 3) analyzing intelligence information to assess developments, trends, and threat implications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
