Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Strategic Systems Support Element (SSSE), HQs Element at Alexandria, Virginia. Responsibilities Serve as an all-source intelligence analyst in the Directorate of Intelligence (G2) responsible for applying detailed knowledge of all source intelligence in support of operations. Prepare and conduct frequent in-depth formal and informal intelligence briefings of intelligence assessments to the G2, commander, staff, higher headquarters, deployed US forces and other audiences including national level intelligence agencies. Utilize state of the art intelligence research tools, automated information systems and analytic tradecraft to conduct all-source analysis. Coordinate and collaborate with counterparts in partner Agencies and organizations to synchronize efforts and analysis. Represent the command in applicable intelligence exchanges or international forums, furnishing information, defending agency positions, and coordinating studies and conclusions. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify, applicants must have one year or more of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level. Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes: 1. Experience performing all-source intelligence analysis and production in support of operations and/or national requirements in accordance with established laws, policies, and regulations. 2. Experience providing formal and/or informal intelligence briefings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: All-Source Intelligence Analysis Intelligence Policy and Procedures Tools and Methods Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
