Leidos is seeking an Installation Technician to partner on a large enterprise IT contract. The Installation Technician will be a part of the team that is accountable for end user technology refresh installation support of existing hardware, software, system configurations and new system initiatives to ensure that the organization's information technology infrastructure is operating securely, reliably and efficiently. This individual will work in a team environment to ensure mission needs are met and ensure functionality of capabilities of customers.

Primary Tasks

  • Responsible for installation, configuration, decommission and support of the customer’s end user devices.  Support the install team while communicating across teams and with customers and Leidos program managers/project managers. For entire projects, responsible for personnel and project management coordinate during Site installs. Teams up with colleagues on various projects, guides activities, and assesses work across the team(s). Support project tasks spanning multiple technical areas, working to achieve key project/program objectives and deliverables. Provides primary interface with contractor support service groups.
  • Provides technical solutions to a variety of problems
  • Provides installation of and troubleshooting support for Desktops (Thin and Thick clients), printers, monitors, KVMs, phones, scanners.
  • Ensure meticulous cable management
  • Deploys a wide variety of new hardware, software, and the upgrade of existing installations
  • Confirm required security posture on all network equipment in accordance with DoD and local command mandates and requirements, including updates, STIGs, IOS upgrades, and other basic network security requirements
  • Prepares and maintains a wide range of documentation for processes and procedures related to computer systems and operations
  • Scheduling installs without interrupting business workflow
  • comprehend, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures
  • Mentor/Lead junior team of installation technicians, as needed
  • May take on team or task lead duties as needed
  • May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals

Successful candidates must possess the following skills: 

  • Must be able to work independently to be the primary customer interface, manage time effectively, prioritize problems, and reporting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interface with military officials, managers, and technical teammates across multiple areas.
  • Extensive knowledge of PC/network communications hardware/software in a multi- protocol environment.
  • Skilled knowledge of IT and network security best practices and protocols and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. 
  • Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoDM 8140.03 (previously DoD 8570) – IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements (Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+ CE, GSEC, or higher).

Education:

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 0 years, Associate's with 4 years, or High School Diploma with 6 years.  
  • 25% Travel

Clearance:

  • Due to the nature of the government contracts we support, US Citizenship is required.
  • An active TS/SCI with polygraph is required for this position or TS/SCI and willingness to obtain a poly.
  • Potential for up to 25% worldwide, majority in continental U.S.

Desired Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience managing teams of IT professionals.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $57,850.00 – $104,575.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
