We are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer – AVG SME to join our collaborative team supporting United States Navy, our NAVFAC AT/FP program, and specifically our Naval Warfare Information Center – Pacific in SanDiego, CA. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) Ashore Program’s mission is to design, procure, integrate, install and sustain the systems/equipment hardware, associated firmware, and software required to provide the ability to protect mission-critical assets and personnel from natural disasters, acts of terrorism and other human-caused disasters.
The Naval Warfare Information Center, NIWC-PAC’s mission is to perform installation, integrated engineering, and configuration as well as performing retrofit services to existing automated vehicle gates and automated personnel turnstile systems deployed at various NAVFAC facilities/US Naval installations as well as maintaining these systems in lab settings.
In this role, you will:
Install, troubleshoot, and maintain products/equipment including:
Automated Vehicle Gates (AVGs), Automated Pedestrian Turnstiles (APTs), Access Control Systems, Vehicle and Personnel Sensors, Human Interface Devices, Networked Video Surveillance Cameras and associated Recording and Transmission devices, Video Management Systems
Identify faults, analyze readings, and repair product failures, orders and replaces parts as needed, train employees
Determine and recommend which products or services best fit the customers’ needs.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
An active DoD Secret clearance
A bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience OR a high school diploma/GED with 4 years’ experience in the field
Ability to travel locally and OCONUS distance up to 50% of the time as needed
A solid understanding of electrical and electronic troubleshooting, and the ability to read and interpret associated drawings
Familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures related to the job description listed above.

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $72,214.46 to $122,024.10; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills
