Position Summary/Description:
The UNC Department of Family Medicine seeks a clinician-scientist with a scholarly focus on tobacco use and cessation. As a faculty physician in family medicine, you will be an integral part of the department’s success. Each faculty member is supported by a mentoring subcommittee that helps build the framework to a successful career, including career planning, counseling around career goals, and regular review of academic activities, all tailored to individual professional and personal goals.
As a faculty clinician, you will provide patient care in one of our Family Medicine Centers, based on applicant interest and department need, with FTE determined with the fair and standard allocation of FTE credit applied to all faculty. As a faculty researcher, you will demonstrate the capacity for high-quality research and leadership, and will be expected to publish in top-tier academic/medical journals. Securing grant funding is expected. Faculty rank and salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus excellent UNC faculty physician benefits and incentive pay.
