This is an ongoing recruitment to fill positions in June. Applicants are encouraged to apply early! Eligible applicants will be contacted for interviews as early as March.

Youth Conservation Crew – Youth Crew Member (available for ages 14+ )

Nature Day Camp – Teen Educator I (available for ages 16+)

Job Type: Casual, Part-time. These are part-time jobs where you can work up to 1,400 hours in a year. Employees in these positions serve at will. These jobs are called Community Service Aide I’s by the City of Portland.

Benefits: These jobs are not eligible for benefits.

Youth Conservation Crew – Youth Crew Member (https://www.portland.gov/parks/environmental-education/youth-conservation-crew) (Ages 14+) – $18.00 per hour

Work with plants, animals, and trails!

Daily Schedule: -During the summer work Tuesday – Friday, June 24 – August 8, 2025. 8:30am – 2:30pm-During the school year, you can sign up to work on Saturdays and on school holidays

Nature Day Camp – Teen Educator I (https://www.portland.gov/parks/environmental-education/nature-day-camp-paid-jobs) (Ages 16+) – $18.00 per hour Work with children ages 5 – 12 in local parks, leading games, activities, and exploring nature. Daily Schedule: – June 17 through August 15, 2025; Monday through Friday; 8:00am to 4:00pm.

The following qualifications are required for this position:

Applicants ages 14+ years old by June 24, 2025 will be considered for Youth Conservation Crew – Youth Crew Member.

Applicants must be enrolled in high school in the 2024 – 2025 school year to be considered for the Youth Conservation Crew – Youth Crew Member.

Applicants ages 16+ years old by June 17, 2025 will be considered for Nature Day Camp – Teen Educator I.

Preferred Qualifications:

Please note, these are not required, but will be helpful:

Speak one of the following languages: Spanish, Vietnamese, Somali, Chinese, or Russian.

Hiring Process:

Step 1: Apply online starting on January 6, 2025.

Step 2: We will review your application to see if you meet the minimum needs for this role.

Step 3: If you qualify, you will be placed on a list of eligible candidates.

Step 4: We will contact eligible candidates for interviews as positions become available. Interviews will happen in April.

Step 5: Job offers will be made after interviews, in April and May.

Step 6: The start date will be approximately June 17, 2025, for Nature Day Camp, and June 24, 2025 for Youth Conservation Crew, once all hiring conditions are met.
