Overview
GovCIO is currently hiring a skilled and motivated Digital Support Strategist to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will support senior leadership with identifying digitalization gaps and opportunities for improving, paper-based processes and moving to a digital framework, Have a strong knowledge, base of the Internal Revenue Services (IRS), as well as strong customer relationship skills. This position will be located in the Washington, DC metro area, and will be a remote position with the ability to be occasionally on-site. Core hours of operation will be Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 PM ET.
Responsibilities
Research and evaluate data to identify trends, pain points, and areas for improvement
Create detailed reports on digital support performance, including key metrics like customer satisfaction, resolution time, and quality of paper to digital images.
Utilize data insights to inform strategic decisions and drive continuous improvement
Set and communicate the strategic direction for improving paper-based processes
Prepare policy and program reports, data analyses, data visualizations, or other work products on digitalization Trends
Must have a strong knowledge base with the Department of Treasury and the IRS preferred Inflation Reduction Act
Assure standards of quality, integrity, and inclusion
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s with 8+ years (or commensurate experience)
Experience with strategic planning and road mapping
Knowledge of IRS systems and applications
Analytical Thinking – Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis and the ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business
Excellent Communications – Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors; ability to effectively write/technical writing; and ability to understand and translate technical approaches and methodologies.
Ability to collaborate and communicate with a vast array of technical and financial personnel
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance with Internal Revenue Service.
Preferred Skills and Experience
In-depth knowledge of IRS paper forms and taxpayer data
Understanding of digitization projects at IRS
Able to use project management tools such as Jira, MS Project, MS Teams, SharePoint, and capacity models
Experience in IT modernization and digitization
Excellent time management skills
Clearance: Must be able to obtain/maintain a suitability/public trust clearance with the IRS.

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
Posted Salary Range
USD $112,000.00 – USD $118,000.00 /Yr.
