Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Data Engineers to join our team! In this role, you will have a strong background in building and maintaining data streaming applications on platforms they install and maintain. You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our data pipelines, ensuring high availability and performance.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Design and Implementation: Develop, deploy, and maintain Confluent-based applications and data pipelines to facilitate real-time data processing.
System Architecture: Collaborate with data architects and other engineers to design scalable and efficient data streaming architectures.
Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring solutions to track Confluent performance and health, troubleshoot issues, and optimize throughput and latency.
Data Integration: Work with various data sources and sinks, integrating Confluent with databases, cloud services, and other data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink).
Documentation and Best Practices: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of Confluent architectures, configurations, and processes. Establish and enforce best practices for data streaming and Confluent usage.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, data scientists, and DevOps, to ensure seamless integration of Confluent solutions.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
4+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering, with a focus on Apache Confluent.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Confluent, including topics, partitions, producers, consumers, and streams API. Familiarity with Confluent Connect and Confluent Streams is a plus.
Programming Languages: Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Python.
Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a strong attention to detail.
B.Sc. degree in data or computer sciences (or related field); can supplement experience in lieu of a degree with +4 years experience
Active TS/SCI w/Poly is required to start
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
Experience installing, configuring and maintaining Confluent servers using Ansible.
Experience with DevSecOps pipelines.
Experience with other messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ).
Knowledge of data modeling and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
Understanding of the cybersecurity domain.
Worked in an SAFe/Agile environment using Jira and Confluence.

Salary Range:
$117,000.00 – $210,600.00
