This is opportunity is an exciting leadership role in development of advanced model predictive control, estimation and FDA algorithms. Control systems applications include gas turbine engine control, electrified aircraft propulsion, integrated propulsion, power & thermal management systems, fuel system and actuation control.

Responsibilities include:

Lead design, implementation, and validation of model predictive propulsion control systems from concept through engine test and entry into service.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action for advanced control system integration, test, and field issues.
Lead rapid development of control algorithm software solutions to emerging hardware issues.
Lead control system trade studies for improving key propulsion system metrics.
Own evolution of standard work for multi-variable, model predictive control applications to hybrid electric propulsion systems.
Innovate and create intellectual property strategy for hybrid electric propulsion.

Basic Qualifications:

B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
5+ years of relevant experience or a M.S. Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
Possession of an active security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
US Citizenship required due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

Linear and nonlinear control systems theory (state space, frequency domain, MPC, feedback linearization)
Physics-based modeling (propulsion systems, fuel systems, air systems, thermal management), Numerical methods theory for linear algebra and differential equation solutions, Probability theory, Uncertainty propagation in dynamical systems, State estimation, Model predictive control, Quadratic programming and general optimization theory.
