Our Department-22, Advanced Concepts and Technologies (ACT), Advanced Electro Optical (AEO) Section is seeking committed engineers and scientists who are passionate about creating innovative and cost-effective solutions.

We have an immediate career opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Engineering team in McKinney, TX.  The AEO engineering team designs and integrates optical sensors into unique automated systems to perform research and development for our customer in fielded environments.  This Senior Engineer will help define and model Optical Systems Architecture using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).

Required Skills:

Minimum 6 years of related engineering experience in the Electro Optical / Infrared (EO/IR) area in system Architecture, modeling and simulation of Optical Systems and use of MBSE tools.

Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo or Rhapsody.

Development and oversight of MBSE and related digital engineering artifacts for multiple programs within the EO/IR product family

Highly skilled with Cameo Enterprise Architecture software with experience developing Digital Engineering/MBSE products

Proficient with SysML

Proficient with Rational DOORS (Classic or Next Generation)

Ability to develop, document, analyze, and decompose requirements

Existing & Active Secret Clearance is required on Day-1

 Desired Skills:

Experience with multi-function systems to include RF and EO/IR sensors and knowledge of related performance characteristics

Understand EO/IR systems and subsystem elements and characteristics

Work with leadership, customers, and/or team members to elicit objectives and requirements to resolve customer needs

Participate in customer reviews and program technical reviews

Ensure the consistent application of engineering best practices and all activities undertaken under your control are conducted to common standards in accordance with Raytheon’s Integrated Product Development System processes

Using Raytheon processes, Agile Execution, and 6-Sigma practices proactively to foster a culture of continuous process improvement

CAD experience with software such as PTC Creo (Pro-E) or SolidWorks

Required Education:

6 years of relevant experience and a BS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics; or 4 years of relevant experience with a MS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project

management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

Typically requires:

A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions:

Typically requires a degree in Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
