Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) is looking for a software engineer with expertise in signal processing to include wave-form analysis, digital signals processing, and communications theory. The position requires strong software engineering skills that include architecture and implementation of real time signal processing systems. The software engineering (SE) subject matter expert (SME) will support a classified signal processing program and will engage multiple organizations within Raytheon, as well as external to Raytheon, to develop and implement signal processing techniques. The SME will be responsible for helping develop solutions that will satisfy Customer requirements and standardizing the processes for these solutions. Position sought through RayTech to allow flexibility of work hours.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Perform software signal processing SME role on signal processing programs to include algorithm development and implementation and capability enhancements to existing signal processing applications
Guide efforts to develop new signal processing products/components that will support enhancing currently deployed signal processing systems
Provide technical support across RIS signal processing programs
Guide development and implementation of the design of advanced new products
Coach, teach, and mentor to encourage and accelerate talent growth
Acts independently and pro-actively seeks to uncover and resolve issues
Personally models and fosters a culture of ethical behavior
Must have an existing Top Secret SCI clearance with current SSBI within last 5 years.
Required Experience & Skills:
Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in fields of signal processing, software engineering, and architecture of real-time signal processing systems
Demonstrated knowledge of single and multiple channel input signal processing techniques with understanding of and experience with multiple real time signal processing systems
Experience with signal detection, signal isolation (in co-channel interference environments), interference mitigation, waveform characterization and parameter estimation, multi-stream processing (e.g., complex ambiguity function and source separation), and geolocation observable extraction and location techniques
Experience with detailed technical analysis and computer simulation / modeling of sophisticated signal processing algorithms using MATLAB or similar tools
Candidate must exhibit an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, resourcefulness, integrity, and teaming skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with coworkers, and customers in a team environment
Masters in Electrical Engineering and > 15 years of relevant signal processing and software engineering experience
Ability to apply communication theory and digital signal processing expertise to pursue technology development and new business opportunities
Familiarity with satellite design and orbital operational environments to include size, weight, and power constraints
In-depth signal processing system design experience
Experience in solutions meeting Special Access Programs / Special Access Required (SAP/SAR) system requirements
Work experience in the fields of computer technology, systems engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, reverse engineering
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree
Desired Education: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
