Principal Software Engineering (Onsite)

Design, develop, test and integrate software for the Modular Mission Computer (MMC) family of airborne processor products. Tasking may involve all phases of the software development life cycle.  The successful candidate will develop real-time embedded software using the Agile Scrum methodology and standard RI&S processes. In addition to the modification of the existing product line code base, there will be development of new software functionality/capabilities in order to meet specific product instantiation requirements. Development includes low level interface and control of processor board hardware and the creation of hardware, messaging and operating APIs for use by other software. Development will include deployable mission software and critical test software used to test/verify the mission software.

Required Skills:

8+ years of professional software development experience

Real-time embedded software development experience

C/C++ programming experience

Demonstrated experience with direct control of hardware devices and registers

Demonstrated ability to solve complex software development or integration issues using innovative solutions

Experienced with product development utilizing standard software development processes

Experience working independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills

U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment. 

Active Secret security clearance with investigation within last 5 years

Desired Skills:

Product development utilizing the Scrum techniques of the Agile software development process

Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as Green Hills INTEGRITY or VxWorks

Serendipity Test Executive, National Instruments (NI) TestStand or NI LabWindows/CVI

Required Education:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. May have an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 6 years’ experience.
