Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) is seeking Software Engineers for our satellite ground system programs.
In this role, you will be joining a development team where our software engineers and architects are developing and maintaining next-generation ground station software. Our complex domain requires creative solutions to meet evolving customer needs.

What You’ll Get to Do:
As a Principal Software Engineer on the FORGE Program you will provide experience with the full software lifecycle including design, development, test, delivery, and maintenance. In addition to working with other software disciplines, our developers are exposed to various technologies including multi-tiered architectures, Cloud Services, and micro-services. Our program follows modern Agile/DevOps development practices and utilizing an agile framework – experience in this area is a plus. We provide robust and easy-to-use tools for reporting status and estimates to your agile team leadership – meaning more time for true problem solving.
Our small agile teams adapt to evolving problem sets, and engineers benefit from a flexible work environment where engineers can migrate between teams to contribute to new domains.
Docker/Podman container builds based on docker files
Modifications to docker files to update SW in base containers
Cyber hardening of containers
DevSecOps pipeline Jenkins groovy scripting including SW builds, automated testing, and cyber scans
Docker registry maintenance
Build artifact repository maintenance – Archiva and/or Nexus
Red Hat System Administration experience
General troubleshooting in Kubernetes/Openshift
Active Secret Clearance
8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree (STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, typically); OR
6 years of relevant experience with a Masters degree (STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, typically)
Experience with some area of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics models
Knowledge of secure coding practices
Experience integrating software modules, components, and subsystems
