Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? The Pratt & Whitney Amercon Manufacturing Engineering Organization is seeking a highly motivated individual to support the production of turbine airfoils. Responsibilities: – Help create and maintain shop floor work instructions (including specifications, engineering changes, QAD/process control, and tooling definition/requirements.) – Provide focused & effective leadership in eliminating EH&S/Ergonomics/Human Factors risks and addressing quality issues. Identify & implement shop floor process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent QCPC turn backs /escapes and reduce overall assembly costs. – Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives supporting the achievement of meeting the ACE 12.2 criteria. – Implementation of new capital equipment from specification and ordering through delivery, installation and release to production. – Improve current manufacturing processes to reduce costs and increase reliability and control of these operations. – Gather all necessary data respective to non-conformances and provide relentless root cause and positive corrective actions.  – Significant interaction with the hourly work force, tool designers, quality assurance, integrated product teams, systems designers, Information Systems, and program assembly partners are typical of the position.

Basic Qualifications: – Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of manufacturing experience OR an Associate’s degree and 4-7 years of manufacturing experience. (Preference: Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.) – Applicable manufacturing engineering experience and turbine airfoil processing knowledge are a strong plus for this position. – A working-knowledge of lean manufacturing tools including Process Certification & Management, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, QCPC/Root-Cause Analysis and Set-Up Reduction/Mistake Proofing. – Excellent communication/presentation skills. – Strong project engineering/planning skills. – Understanding of NC programming.
