Commodity Management and Sourcing Manager

This position is for an experienced Commodity & Strategic Sourcing professional responsible for: Leading sourcing process from RFQ to contract signature. Completing compliance requirements. Developing and executing key Supply Chain Management initiatives. Responsible for overall relationship with one or multiple strategic accounts across a given commodity. Ensuring supplier or commodity is performing to the designed Collins requirements from delivery, quality and cost perspective.

This individual will ideally work at our Cedar Rapids, IA, Charlotte, NC or Windsor Locks, CT location but can possibly work at any Collins location or remote.


Primary Responsibilities:

Executes Supply Chain strategies across multiple business units

Sends out RFQs and aids in source selection process

Complete compliance documents and requirements using ARIBA tool

Analyzes data and information to determine reasonable prices and best source of supply.

Negotiates and administers contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.

Manages projects or processes of various complexity

Resolves escalated issues with vendors and Supply Chain Management

Works autonomously with limited oversight from manager.

Responsible for overall relationship with one or multiple strategic accounts across a given commodity.

Establishes sourcing goals and acceptable service levels.

Evaluates supplier’s capability, quality, reliability, and price competitiveness.

Identifies and conducts research on suppliers to ensure that the organization’s standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply are met.

Ensures supplier or commodity is performing to the designed Collins requirements from delivery, quality and cost perspective.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 8 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

Must be willing and able to travel 10 – 15% of the time

Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
