The Materials & Processes Engineering (MPE) department is seeking highly motivated and qualified laboratory technicians to join a world class team advancing the future of jet propulsion. At Pratt & Whitney, MPE is responsible for developing and delivering advanced materials technologies and manufacturing solutions to enable system level enhancements for both Military and Commercial jet engines. Core duties of these roles will include, but are not limited to performing material sample preparation, executing lab experiments, equipment operation and maintenance, data acquisition and a commitment to promoting a safe working environment. We have multiple openings for experienced technicians in the below fields:
Metallurgical Sample Preparation
Optical and Electron Microscopy
Process and Analytical Chemistry
Thermal Spray or Other Production Coating Processes
Non Destructive Evaluation / Test (NDE / NDT)
Mechanical Testing / Servo-Hydraulic Equipment & Control
Electronics / Computer Programing
CAD & Drafting
Machining / EDM / Water Jet
Other general lab or manufacturing equipment
These roles are 100% on-site in hands-on laboratories.
AS degree in a Technical or STEM field
6+ years’ experience
US Citizen for certain roles driven by program requirements or US Person
Experience with aerospace or gas turbine materials and manufacturing processes
Experience in an R&D laboratory or production support environment
Working proficiency with MS Office Suite and SAP a bonus
Strong attention to detail
Ability to build positive relationships
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Promoting teamwork and an inclusive environment
Travel up to 10%
