The positions primary focus is the execution, implementation and validations of a centrally operational technology for controls hardware & software for Pratt and Whitney Hot Section Module Center North (HSMC-N) The position will also aid in developing standard practices, with involvement in continuous improvement of the control’s specification and in alignment with all company and project automation goals. Key Responsibilities: Create and assist in the execution of standard as related to controls hardware. This includes: Component list per application including supplier selection Design and implementation validation Operational Technology network architecture Standard engineering procedures and documentation Standard best practices, integration procedures and documentation Maintenance procedures and Life Cycle Cost calculations Create and assist in the execution of standard as related to controls software. This includes: PLC code standardization Ignition scripting standardization Software Defined Network (SDN) requirements and standardization Optimal software requirement list per application including supplier selection Firewall rule implementation Data collection and user interfaces Database recommendations and formatting Standard data collection templates that can be easily replicated Data/Communication driver creation and maintenance Performance board and HMI screen standardization Standard engineering procedures and documentation Standard best practices, integration procedures and documentation Maintenance procedures including rev level standardization Applying central Pratt & Whitney standard hardware, software and network architecture. Applying expertise to technical problem resolution for current and future projects. Communicating at all levels within RTX and Pratt & Whitney, as well as externally, tapping technical resources, forming teams and consulting with programs. Meeting all Environmental Health & Safety and Preventative Maintenance requirements associated with manufacturing development. Works to influence parties within and outside of department at an operational level regarding policies, practices and procedures. Assist as resource in the capital procurement process Provide an expert level of understanding of controls standards and execution to all levels of the organization. Provide input on database structures Standardization of Python programming language in Ignition! Communicate with business partners both local, remote, internally, and externally Foster open communications with team members to promote a positive work environment.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Electrical Engineering, Computer/Software engineering, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline and 5+ years of experience in automated systems specifically in manufacturing environments Master’s Degree in Industrial/Electrical Engineering, Computer/Software engineering, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline and 3+ years of experience in automated systems specifically in manufacturing environments In absence of a degree, 9+ years of experience is required US Citizenship required due to government contracts The ability to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Studio 5000 Logix designer, Siemens TIA Portal, Ignition!, Factory Talk, RS Networks, AutoCAD and MS Office Suite Strong communication, collaboration and team building skills; ability to connect with all levels of the organization Candidate should be self-starter and able to work with minimal direction Extensive experience with controls hardware design utilizing a broad range of components and architectures Extensive experience troubleshooting different component manufactures and applications Understanding of how SQL databases are constructed Extensive experience with software development and Ignition! scripting Understanding of OPC UA interfaces Experience with system software / PLC code development, HMI development Excellent judgment and professional maturity Clear communication What is my role type?
