Job Summary:
RI&S has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director Industrial Systems Engineering (ISE).

The Associate Director ISE will lead all Industrial Engineering activities across RI&S including a team of 40 employees.  This role will integrate ISE fundamentals and organizational leadership with emerging advanced manufacturing techniques and technologies such as digital and smart manufacturing to drive business execution in our factories while modernizing the enterprise.  The ideal candidate will be a change leader, preferably with aerospace or industrial goods manufacturing and lean background, able to develop trusted partnerships across the enterprise. 

In addition to leadership in all aspects of industrial engineering this leader will play a key role in strategic transformation initiatives, drive, coach, and influence lean deployment and productivity improvements, and interface with factories and product lines across RI&S. The candidate will have experience using a wide variety of analysis and CI methods and tools. Situational awareness, flexibility, and creativity are key criteria for success. Advanced communication skills and a demonstrated ability to confidently and independently lead change are musts, which includes interactions with a broad population including customers and executives.

This is a hybrid role with ability to travel up to 50% of time

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Lead the RI&S Industrial Systems Engineering (ISE) teams across 6 factories developing and maintaining common ISE processes
Create a team atmosphere across diverse geographic locations through empowerment, accountability, and leadership.
Constantly strive to eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction, and increase market share via the use of Lean and CI methodologies, including both the data driven and social/people tenants of a successful Lean culture.
Provide strategic inputs for manufacturing plans, proposal, manufacturing and operations strategy
Grow the ISE organization by applying the latest advanced industrial engineering techniques and Industry 4.0 concepts to product and processes throughout all phases of product lifecycle, including digital manufacturing simulation tools, visualization and automation.
Develop strong partnerships with the operations/factory leadership teams in multiple locations.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Must have 12+ years of working knowledge of industrial engineering, manufacturing or related experience
Experience leading cross-functional teams in a multi-site, matrix environment
Highly motivated individual who excels when challenged with problem solving, process improvement and lean manufacturing projects.
Ability to work with all levels of management and communicate effectively with peers and customers.
Thorough knowledge of advanced continuous improvement methods and tools across the value stream, particularly within engineering and manufacturing environments
Ability to travel as project work requires (up to 50%)
Must be a U.S. Citizen as the position will require the ability to access US only data systems

Qualifications We Value:
Experience in aerospace and defense industry
Lean/Six Sigma certification – understanding both the data aspects, and the criticality the social/people elements of a successful Lean culture.
Experience in training and coaching Lean and 6Sigma methods & tool
Experience with digital manufacturing tools and techniques
Transitioning development products to a production environment

Required Education:
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 12 years prior relevant experience.
