The Opportunity:

Team CACI has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for a COMSEC (communications security) Network Designer Lead supporting an Intelligence Community customer’s wide-area (WAN), campus-area (CAN), and local-area (LAN) networks across multiple security domains. Focus will be on COMSEC account management, and cryptologic duties to include operation and maintenance of encryption devices.

As the COMSEC Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the communications security program, ensuring the protection of sensitive information transmitted network connected and point to point communications systems. This role will require expertise in managing COMSEC requirements, policies, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of COMSEC principles, practices, and technologies, as well as a proven track record in leading teams to safeguard national communications security.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the organization’s COMSEC program, ensuring compliance with national security policies, standards, and regulations (e.g., NIST, FIPS, DoD directives).

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.

Focus will be on COMSEC Account Management, Custodian Duties and Encryption device configuration and maintenance.

Collaborate with other cybersecurity teams to ensure integration of COMSEC measures into broader IT and security strategies.

Provide expert advice and guidance on COMSEC issues to leadership, staff, and other stakeholders.

Maintain current inventory of all Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) material.

Coordinate system maintenance, monitoring and installation of COMSEC equipment across multiple WAN/LAN environments.

Develop and maintain a road map for capabilities, operations, and technologies including providing guidance on forecasting cryptographic equipment needs.

Assist with development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation of all communications security configuration upgrades, additions or revisions for customer approval before implementation.

Evaluate and recommend changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization and industry best practices.

Perform audits and assessments of COMSEC operations to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the program.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging threats and new technologies within the COMSEC domain.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

10+ years’ of related work experience

DOD 8570 IAT2 level certification (Security +)

Security Clearance: active TS/SCI, eligibility to take and pass a polygraph.

Proven experience leading and managing COMSEC programs and teams.

In-depth knowledge of COMSEC principles, standards, and practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience with the following encryption devices:General Dynamics family: KG175D, KG175F, KG175G and KG175XL-3 Family: KG245A and KG245XViasat Family: KG250, KG250X, KG255X and KG142Link Encryptors: KIV-7M

Desired:

Experience with COMSEC tools and software such as KMI (Key Management Infrastructure), COMSEC equipment management platforms, or similar systems.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, COMSEC Manager (e.g., CNSS 4011).

Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$115,600 – 254,200 USD
