You will be a Senior Component Engineer at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC), responsible for analyzing physical properties of electronic components, managing component lifecycle, and ensuring compliance with customer requirements. Our team is looking for a talented and experienced component engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Senior Component Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Analyzing physical properties of electronic components

Managing component lifecycle, including procurement, testing, and qualification

Ensuring compliance with customer requirements and specifications

Coordinating with suppliers and manufacturers on new releases, roadmaps, and end-of-life components

Providing technical guidance to program managers and engineers on component selection, qualification, and performance

Supporting manufacturing and quality engineers with technical issues and verification of handling components

Working closely with design engineers to select approved and reliable components

Performing or contributing to trade studies and testing for new designs or obsolescence replacement

Managing component-related failures analysis, non-compliances, and prohibited items (such as pure tin)

Mitigating risks of procurement of counterfeit parts and utilizing lifecycle management

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance..

Basic Qualifications:

-Prior experience in Component Engineering

-Proficient with computer tools such as MS Excel. -Comfortable working in a team environment.

-Ability to work with minimal supervision.

-Ability to work in team environment.

-Strong communication skills and able to effectively work with manufacturers and other external part suppliers.

-Ability to travel to both the customer and supplier locations.

-Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Clearance.

Desired Skills:

-Experience in electrical component manufacturing process and physical property analysis.

-Experience in Components Engineering with knowledge of electronic components and devices. Electrical or Electronic Engineering experience (such as components or digital/analog design).

-Material Science Engineer degree with electrical component experience or an Electrical Engineer degree with component engineering experience.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week
