BACKGROUND: Since 1952, Beacon Group has been creating opportunities
for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix and
beyond. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, Beacon serves over 2000
people with disabilities each year. Beacon provides job training and
placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment
programs to assist the more than two-thirds of working-age people with
disabilities who do not have a job. As a Beacon employee, you can be a

POSITION INTRODUCTION: We provide training, development and access to
real work for a segment of our community. We are seeking an individual
to provide accurate cable assembly of contracted jobs including pressing
of rivet assemblies. Work schedule is Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm.
DUTIES:
Production
Responsible for accurate assembly of contracted jobs.
Perform job with strict attention to safety considerations.
Reports any defects immediately to supervisor.
Attend training(s) as required
Other duties as assigned.
Attend training and yearly review on the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens
Standard, as well as Beacon’s Exposure Control Policy. Understand
and follow the Standard and Exposure Control Program.
Report any potentially dangerous situations to supervisor and Human
Resources. Take steps necessary to protect clients and staff until
the situation is corrected.
Reinforce safe practices to clients and other staff.
Attend Safety trainings as required.
In the event of an industrial accident or illness, in conjunction
with supervisor, complete an accident investigation and report to
Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have previous stripping/crimping experience (Molex, TE, JST)
IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified (current or held certifications in the
past) preferred
Knowledgeable with various hand tools used to perform cable assembly
and harnessing
Skilled at soldering (IPC Certified a plus)
Computer Skills (Windows, Microsoft Office Suite)
High school diploma or its equivalent preferred
Ability to assemble cables based on drawings and other technical
documentation. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds unassisted
Excellent manual dexterity to manipulate small parts.
Ability to push and pull up to 25 pounds
Ability to sit for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to work effectively with staff, clients and the public
Ability to use judgment
Ability to meet deadlines
