Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated Cogito Business Analyst to join our uniquely collaborative data visualization and reporting team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a foundational understanding of healthcare informatics and possess the ability to create reports and dashboards using Epic’s Cogito platform. Additionally, the candidate should show aptitude for learning and applying new technical skills while working closely with clinical and operational stakeholders. This position is essential in supporting Parkview Health’s data-driven decision-making processes and commitment to improving the health and well-being of our communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with clinical and business stakeholders under guidance to understand their needs, gather requirements, and assist in designing BI solutions that align with their business objectives.
Utilize Epic’s Cogito platform and related tools to develop reporting workbench reports, radar dashboards, and data extracts, enabling informed decision-making through effective data visualization.
Maintain data quality and accuracy in reports while adhering to standard protocols, upholding data governance principles, and ensuring HIPAA compliance. Follow established documentation standards and participate in user acceptance testing.
Develop foundational expertise in Epic Chronicles and Cogito tools, participate in team collaboration, and engage in continuous learning to enhance knowledge and adopt best practices.
Support service excellence by assisting stakeholders with self-service reporting needs and helping facilitate understanding and analysis of data insights.
Contribute to process improvements and workflow optimizations by identifying opportunities for enhancement and working with team leads to implement solutions.
Apply problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve data and system-related challenges, ensuring data integrity and optimal report performance.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 years experience in information technology, healthcare or other related field with basic reporting tool and data visualization proficiency.
Epic certification at time of hire or must obtain within 6 months after hire.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Epic EMR systems.
Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, WebI, Radar).
Familiarity with healthcare terminology and workflows.
Background in data analysis or reporting.
