Biology AI and Machine Learning Specialist, Senior

Key Role:

Assist in programs advancing the intersection of biology and artifi cia l intelligence to support research programs for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency ( DARPA ) . Draw on deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise to advise clients in areas such as whole cell modeling, biological simulations, molecular dynamics, biomedical device design, machine learning or bioinformatics, and physical virology. Utilize strong technical writing skills and the ability to communicate complex scientific ideas to broad audiences in the development and management of high-risk, high-reward projects that seek revolutionary change bey ond the state-of-the-art. Serve as a strategic technical spe cia list for an advanced government-funded research and development agency, building and managing programs that help revolutionize the world. Work with world-class scientists and engineers for a DoD client to impact national security investments through the development of cutting-edge technologies and leveraging technical expertise to provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior DoD decision makers. Maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating the transition of program deliverables to DoD stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

5+ years of experience with research in biomedical engineering, biophysics, machine learning, bioinformatics, or systems biology, including time as a graduate student

Experience authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for technical and non-technical audiences

Ability to explain and present complex scientific concepts to a broad audience

Secret clearance

Doctorate degree

Additional Qualifications:

2+ years of experience with postdoctoral, academic, consult ing, or industrial research

Experience with the development and use of AI algorithms and the implementation of these algorithms for biological research

Experience in computational simulations of biological phenomenon

Experience with technical project or program management

Experience with scientific writing

Ability to display multiple peer-reviewed papers or patents

Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

TS / SCI clearance

Doctorate degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biophysics, Artifi cia l Intelligence, or a related field

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
