Department Overview
Global Operations and Business Services is a diverse and dynamic group of individuals, whose varied talents and experiences enable us to provide critical infrastructure services that support and/or control the trading, investment, and corporate banking functions of TD Securities. The Global Operations team partners with the front office and other groups globally to mitigate risk and deliver world class service to our global client base. They provide operational support and control functions across the trade lifecycle. The team is heavily involved in new product initiatives and process improvements to streamline our support model. They take great pride in ensuring controls are being continuously reviewed and updated while focusing on the customer at every point of contact.
The Fixed Operations team strives to create efficiency, improve client service levels and reduce operational risk.

Fixed Income Settlements Analyst
Manage daily settlement transactions across multiple fixed income products for DTC and FED settlements. You would be responsible for all settlements functions across your set of clients from trade date to settlement date as well as any trade fails, and buy-ins on securities transactions. Our team interacts with many operations groups globally in our goal of providing an industry leading level of client service to external clients and internal stakeholders. Supporting stakeholders and developing valuable internal & external relationships with employees.
Qualifications:
3+ years’ experience within Capital Markets: Operations/Settlements Organization
Team player, collaborates with others across teams, encourages other team members to participate and contribute and acknowledges the contributions of others.
Able to work in a fast pace, deadline sensitive environment and possess good communication skills
A self-starter who is comfortable in a complex role that interfaces regularly with clients, front office, technology, finance, and trade support teams
Strong knowledge of Excel, Vlookup, Pivots and other requirements
Strong product knowledge including rollout and integration, accompanied with a strong lean mentality
A proven risk assessment and management skill set, fostering a zero tolerance policy for poor integrity and risk taking
A clear communication style
Escalation awareness
A strong front-to-back ownership mentality
Multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize amidst competing / conflicting priorities
Excellent analytical/problem solving skills and a sense of urgency regarding responsibilities

The Operations Analyst TDS provides back up for the Canadian Fixed Income Desk. This individual handles corporate actions, daily cash reconciliation, tracking file uploads into FIST, and is a DTC clearance specialist. Responsibilities include the clearance of London trading activity passing through US broker/dealers. The Operations Analyst TDS advises agent of ticket control numbers for confirmations and performs required system maintenance. In addition, the position maintains compliance files and verifies new clients are set up on FIST, acknowledging that settlement and other client instructions are complete.
Depth & Scope
Participates in the identification, development and implementation of new products, operating workflow, additional services/applications or operational efficiencies for Global Business Services
Identifies documents, investigates and resolves service delivery issues
Manages relationships with the client, and other areas of TDS / GBS
Participates in projects follows project management methodologies, communicates project status and provides timely escalation of issues to senior management to ensure project objectives are met
Interfaces with regulators, external groups (legal firms, accountants etc.), suppliers on operating and service delivery issues relative to the specific area of functional expertise as authorized by the manager
Escalates non-standard or high risk transactions or other activities as appropriate
Acquires and applies knowledge in the discipline, provides assistance and direction to others in TD Securities
Identifies, recommends and effectively executes standard practices applicable to the discipline
Protects the interests of the firm identify and manage risks
Completes business process reviews as required
Participates fully as a member of the team, promotes team effectiveness and contributes to a positive work environment
Supports the team by continuously developing knowledge in own area
Participates in performance management and development activities
Supports change management activities around projects or initiatives undertaken ensures clear communication of new processes
Ensures the timely communication of issues that are relevant to the team and encourages a good working relationship with other departments
Supports the business with consistent application of BSA/AML risk escalation, review and approval processes, KYC due diligence and policies
Contributes to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of programs, processes, policies and tools to meet BSA/AML requirements and industry best practices
Continuously develops/maintains solid knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC requirements, developments and issues within the Operations department
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, or specialized training / equivalent work experience
3+ years related experience
Must possess a complete understanding of the products traded by TD Securities (USA) Inc.
Must also understand systems interfaces, payment and funding processes, compensation rules, and NASD/SEC issues
Should be able to work independently with minimal supervision, establish priorities, and possess strong communication, analytical, and problem solving skills
Solid computer skills are a must
