Airborne Solutions Operations, within the Defense Group is seeking a dynamic Aviation Maintenance Manager located in Manassas, VA. In this role, you will manage and coordinate program activities supporting maintenance and sustainment of aircraft during integration and flight test. You’ll be the point of contact with customer and industry partners to assist in establishing goals, objectives, policies, procedures and provide guidance to guarantee effective execution of the ARL-E Aircraft Maintenance Program while adhering to a specified delivery schedule. Additionally, you’ll assist in supervising Operations Level activities and ensure compliance with DCMA 8210.1c, AS9100 and internal Standard Operating Procedures. You will communicate across multiple locations to coordinate and inform leadership of aircraft status, and provide input to new products, processes or standards, in operational plans, as well as implementing organizational strategies.

Primary Responsibilities
•Assist the Operations Manager and Task Order Project Managers in Program Planning, Subcontractor Scheduling, Schedule Performance, and Reporting requirements
•Support Program and provide oversight at subcontractor and government locations involving aircraft maintenance
•Ensure proper resources are scheduled and communicated across the team
•Effectively communicate with Program Management and the customer on a timely and regular basis
•Effectively brief Program Management and the customer
•Support, enforce, and comply with DCMA 8210 standards, interact with GFR, GGFR, and Program Safety Officer as required to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures
•Coordinates with Logistics Asset Managers, vendors, customers, and subcontractors
•Provides guidance to subordinate employees and peers when appropriate, collaborating and cooperating with other members of the management team
•Recruitment, retention, and training of A&P mechanics
•Plan the workload to optimize the distribution and allocate manpower so that technicians are productive and efficient
•Ensure that scope of work on each aircraft is complete
•Meet the committed aircraft delivery dates
•Attend program scheduling and flight operations meetings to meet the schedules and needs of the program
•Maintain overall responsibility for providing a high level of supervision to the fleet that ARL-E Leidos maintains, including the aircraft, engines, and ground support equipment.  
•The position may entail working on aircraft, and requires oversight on all engines and aircraft that ARL-E Leidos maintains, and supervise work done by mechanics on any program aircraft.
•Communicate in a professional manner with the company’s management, maintenance team, customers and suppliers.

Basic Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below

•A Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related work experience or Master’s degree and 6 years of related work experience.  Additional years of related work experience may be applicable in lieu of a degree
•A valid A&P license with no violations
•Possess an Inspector Authorization (I.A.) or ability to obtain within 12 months from date of start
•Minimum of 5 years aviation maintenance and sustainment leadership experience, including returning aircraft to service
•Experience with Turbo Prop, Dehavilland Dash 8 300 Series 
•Aviation Production/Quality Control experience
•Airborne ISR Aviation maintenance experience
•Possess strong communication skills and ability to work across organizations to solve problems
•Effectively present information, and timely respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public 
•Ability to travel up to 25% (CONUS)  
•A DoD clearance is not required to start, however, a final Secret level of Clearance is required
•Must be a U.S. Citizen
•Strong leadership skills
•Expertise with Army Aviation forms and records management
•Experience closing work orders
•Proficient with computer systems (Microsoft Suite)
•Must live locally or willing to relocate here immediately

Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration

•DHC-8 Aircraft Maintenance Manager Experience
•6 to 10 years aviation maintenance, and sustainment leadership experience, including returning aircraft to service
•Pratt & Whitney engine experience, including borescope proficiency
•Government Contract experience
•Thorough knowledge of DCMA 8210.1C requirements, inspections, Interpret drawings, specifications and schematics of aircraft instrument/electronic/avionics components
•Ability to project long term planning and account for numerous variables
•Experience dealing with OEM Technical Management is a plus
