Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a talented Radar Software Development and Testing Section Manager to manage a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems.

The RF and EW Threat Systems Development Department is a group of engineers who specialize in foreign threat radar systems, RF software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulators, and open-air radar development. The candidate selected for this position will support projects for the Defense Intelligence Community, Air Force, and large prime contractors.

In this position, candidate will serve as a section manager responsible for personnel management in addition to the below duties. As section manager, candidate will be expected to regularly communicate with direct reports to ensure personnel have adequate tasking, monitor, and approve employee timesheets, and conduct annual performance appraisals in accordance with established timelines.

Primary Responsibilities

Development of C++ simulations of radar and missile systems in both software-based and hardware-in-the-loop configurations in a variety of environments including Windows, Linux, and hard real-time operating systems.

Development of C# or LAN web-based custom graphical user-interface tools to support simulation control and real-time visualization of simulation results.

Integration of simulations into customer software environments through software interface development and plugin development.

Creation of deployable professional software deliveries with supporting documentation including version descriptions, test results, and robust installation tools.

Development of continuous build and test toolsets to perform automated release candidate generation and verification.

Collaboration with external customers to elicit requirements and define project goals.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant area.

2+ years work experience with RF or EW software engineering and a strong background in C++ software development is required.

Candidate must demonstrate relevant skills in one or more of the focus areas, have good interpersonal skills, and have the desire to work in a highly focused technical team.

Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama area.

US Citizenship is required and must possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity in any of the following tools is preferred but not required: Microsoft Visual Studio, MATLAB, Atlassian products (JIRA, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Confluence, HipChat), Git, and Jenkins.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $67,600.00 – $122,200.00
