QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SOFTWARE ENGINEER/SIMULATION to join our team of professionals in Huntsville, AL. Job Summary
QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals.
The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying high-performance software solutions in support of complex simulation environments. Candidates must be collaborative, self-driven, and capable of working effectively in cross-functional teams.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy software following structured SDLC processes
Support and enhance modeling and simulation capabilities for mission-critical systems
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in C++, and one or more of the following scripting languages: C, GoLang, Ada, or Python
Collaborate closely with other systems engineers, hardware designers, and test teams to define software requirements and integrate solutions
Utilize and manage development tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Crucible, and Fortify in a CI/CD environment
Communicate project status, technical findings, and software demonstrations to stakeholders through verbal presentations and written documentation
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Science with at least 2 years of experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) – software design requirements, application development, integration, testing, and deployment
Demonstrated experience in Modeling and Simulation
Demonstrated experience with C++
Experience with at least one of the following programming or scripting languages: C, GoLang, Ada, and/or Python
Experience with two or more of the following tools: Jira, Crucible, Bitbucket, Subversion, Bamboo, Jenkins, Sonarqube, Fortify, or Coverity
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed
Self-motivated and customer-oriented
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of C and C++ languages including templates, memory storage, and compiler/linker
Experience with SQL Database or JSON Database
Experience with simulated threat environments such as AFSIM or GMDSIM
Ability to collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers and integration/test engineers to develop and maintain complex software systems
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
Security + certification
Security Clearance
Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
