Position Summary:
Innovative Professional Solutions, Inc. (IPS)a successful defense contractor located in Panama City Beach, Floridahas provided exceptional support to our Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) customers since 2001. We are seeking a motivated and dependable Electrical/Hardware Engineer to support the design, fabrication, production, and testing of government-owned system hardware. This effort will include requirements, design, development, integration, and testing of electrical and hardware components to support the baselines of multiple versions. Support will include prototyping, building, and producing engineering development models (EDM)-level components and integrating the hardware into the overall system design. Design and development of modular components will be documented and included as part of the drawing package for systems production. Tasking will include configuration control and management of the baselines as well as tracking where baselines and EDMs are installed for testing and operations. The contractor will provide integration testing and troubleshooting support, as well as provide training support for operators. This Electrical/Hardware Engineer may also be involved with preparing technical drawings, schematics, interconnect diagrams, and procedures needed to build/repair equipment within specifications to ensure that system installation and operations conform to Department of Defense (DOD) standards and customer requirements.
Highlights of Responsibilities:
Prototype, build, and produce EDM-level components.
Configuration control and management of the baselines.
Provide integration and troubleshooting support.
Provide training support for operators.
Support development of programmatic documentation such as System Engineering Plan and Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability-Cost Reports.
Assist in the development of engineering drawing packages.
Integrate hardware into the overall system design.
Participate in planning meetings.
Contribute to weekly and monthly reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering field.
Experience with Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
Eligible to obtain and maintain a Security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
3 or more years of recent, relevant electrical/hardware engineering experience.
Prior Department of the Navy experience, whether military, civilian, or contractor, is a plus.
Familiar with multimeter, oscilloscope, function generator, and power supply operations.
Knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware, and software.
Knowledge of radio frequency and communication systems.
Solder certified in electronic assembly rework, modification, and repair per IPC 7711/7721.
Certification or experience in Fiber Optics per MIL-STD-2042B.
Knowledgeable in the development and reverse engineering of Printed Circuit Boards.
Capable of reverse engineering cable and wiring harness assemblies.
Capable of conducting engineering research and analysis to resolve component obsolescence.
Efficient in documenting project status, design issues or procedures.
Strong communication skills.
Travel:
Some travel may be required.

Various web-based tools may be used.
WorkingConditions/Environment:
Work will be conducted at IPS, with some work taking place at NSWC PCD.
Some tasks may include reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, squatting, kneeling, and walking.
