The Digital Modernization Sector has an opening for a Mid-Level PostgreSQL Infrastructure Engineer to work in Woodlawn, MD.
This position requires onsite work in Woodlawn, MD five days a week
Day to Day Responsibilities:
The PostgreSQL Infrastructure Engineer has subject matter expertise as a PostgreSQL database infrastructure engineer using Open Source (Community Edition) PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will support our customer by providing design, build, configuration, test, update, documentation, implementation, operational support, and upgrades for PostgreSQL Open Source (Community Edition). The candidate must be self-motivated, be able to collaborate in a team environment, and show initiative to support and promote solutions that enhance the modern development environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated expertise in PostgreSQL Linux infrastructure administration and best practices.

Demonstrated experience with cloud solutions and services in a hybrid cloud environment.

Ability to function within a team.

Knowledge of automated methods and best practices for installation and configuration of PostgreSQL Community Edition.

Experience with implementing operational automation.
-
Documentation skills for creating processes and procedures, use of Confluence.
-
PostgreSQL database operational support skills for educating application development and testing users.
-
Experience with monitoring tools and tuning procedures, as well as backup and recovery procedures.
-
Skills in maintenance tools and procedures.
-
Experience with GIT or other source control tools.
-
Experience with shell scripting.

Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted/accepted in lieu of degree.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

5+ years of experience with Open Source (Community Edition) PostgreSQL.
-
Strong knowledge of RedHat Linux.
How to Stand Out from the Crowd (Desired Qualifications):
Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:
- Demonstrated DEVOPS experience a plus.
- 2 years of experience using Python.
- Proven experience with the Atlassian suite of tools (Git, BitBucket, Jira, Confluence).
- PostgreSQL Open-Source Database Administrator experience.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $104,650.00 – $189,175.00
